Allworth’s Money Matters Radio Show Celebrates 25 Years of Answering Tough Financial Questions
Plus: Money Matters Reaches One Million Podcast Downloads
SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 16, 2020 – Allworth Financials’ Money Matters radio show, a weekly call-in talk radio program, is celebrating many milestones, including its 25th Anniversary of being on the radio, it’s 1,000th episode and reaching one million podcast downloads.
Show co-hosts Scott Hanson and Pat McClain’s love of providing financial education and guidance resulted in the birth of the “Money Matters” show over 25 years ago. Allworth’s Money Matters is one of the longest-running financial talk radio shows in the country, making its debut in 1995 and launching its first podcast in 2015.
“It’s hard to believe we’ve been doing this for over 25 years, I can remember the first episode we ever recorded,” says Scott Hanson, co-founder of Allworth Financial and co-host of Money Matters. “Back then, we had to go into the radio studio every Saturday to record, now we have a fully equipped studio in our Sacramento office.”
In their 25 years on the air, Scott and Pat have answered questions from thousands of callers on everything from retirement planning to investing to general financial topics. The two provide financial guidance with a bit of humor and a lot of personal experience.
“It’s amazing to think about where we started, we launched the radio show two years after founding Hanson McClain Advisors, now Allworth Financial, says Pat McClain, co-founder of Allworth and co-host of Money Matters. “The show was the perfect platform to market our services without a hard sell; we simply demonstrated our expertise while helping callers and educating the public, which is the core of our business philosophy.”
Allworth Financial, formerly Hanson McClain Advisors, was founded in 1993 on the premise of creating an education-based firm that puts the interest of clients first. The Money Matters radio show is both entertaining and educational, helping the firm grow from its humble beginnings of a single desk and shared phone to managing approximately $8 billion in assets and serving over 11,000 clients.
“We’re thankful for our loyal and new listeners, we wouldn’t be where we are today without them,” says Scott Hanson. “The show represents who we are and what we believe in, which is that everyone deserves an opportunity to receive financial advice that is in their best interest.”
Allworth’s Money Matters airs weekly on Sacramento’s KFBK Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. and on Denver’s KOA Saturdays at 11 a.m. Also, the podcast version is available on iTunes, GooglePlay and PodBean.
